Iran through history

Part one: workers and businessmen

For the oldest country of the globe it has been always a struggle to administrate economy and provide people with welfare and to create an acceptable work environment.

according to archaeologists  and historians cyrus the great (550 BC) the founder of Achaemenian dynasty ,was first one in whole world who declared freedom to choose jobs and prohibited slavery across his empire (Persian empire).

Later his true successor  Darius continued cyrus's order and even gave laborers daily permission and particularly insurances .

The equality of work conditions and payments between men and women workers was  Masterpiece of Achaemenian for almost 200 hundred years ,and even when womens were getting pregnant they could take sick permission.

After  Achaemenian two Iranian major dynasties somehow keep Achaemenian tradition until new muslim arabs arrived and invaded iran and despite iranian's resistance they defeated (year 644) .

Things got changed the first order for Iranian who refused to became muslim was to give up their possessions and work for their new foremen, arab masters.

Slavery became a regular norm and women did force to stay at home or become servants or  pleasing appliance.

But situation for a part of Iranian who became muslim was better they were granted freedom by occupiers under supervision.

Iranian learned how to got along with their new rulers and even traded with them soon Iranian became consultant and conductor of arab's businesses.

combination of  Iranian's finance science and islam's faith (like prohibition of lucre and importance of   Bailment)

again created a great civilization between 5s to 16s centuries and made them a great trading partners for whole world.
  In the early 16s with Europe's Renaissance  muslims and specialy iranian's businesses  left behind  because of many reasons like fundamentalism, spread of corruption among governors, incompetence rulers and lack of reconstruction and rehab of destroyed cities remained of mogul barbaric invasion, suddenly in a glimpse in the era of industrial revolution peoples in muslim countries  were still illiterate and suspicious of modern science and technology.

But after collapse of the only two muslim empire (ottoman and Persian )

And declaration of independence of more muslim countries, reforms began and businesses did rejuvenate ,parliaments founded and governments did realize that modernizing is so necessary ,in iran when pahlavi dynasty took power in the early 1920s  by overthrowing Qajars modernizing  sped up .

So far in iran a lot of economic plans and programs executed but nothing near Achaemenian  did happen and still Iranian especially workers and businessmen trying to have better work condition like  what Achaemenian  did have in 2500 years ago.
